Me encanta ver el templo un dia ir podre

What`s up Family? This week was alright. We started off on Monday by working all day. It was weird cause, Monday is always P-Day, but last week no. It was also the day that I completed 11 months. It's insane to think about that! In the night we had a Family Night with the sister that feeds us everyday and her brother and his wife. They are not members. We taught the 3rd lesson the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we did it with a bunch of pictures and we made cards to pass out that had scriptures. Everyone had a card and a scripture to look up. They then had to read it and tell us what it was about. It was an awesome Family Night.
Tuesday we had a solid day. We had interviews with President and Sister Stay. It was a good time. Sister Stay told us all to bring a miracle to tell her. One that we have lived as missionaries. The reason was to make us think because, a  lot of times we don't think that we see miracles. My miracle was the story of the last man I baptized in Montserrat. He couldn't stop drinking coffee. He literally almost died the first time he tried. He had been drinking it everyday of his life for about twenty five years. He then asked me for a blessing so that he could get baptized before I left because, he wanted me to baptize him. I gave him a blessing and he stopped... about 5 days later he was baptized. This man had quit smoking and drinking coffee. I think that that was a miracle. I also shared a part of my patriarchal blessing with her. It says "you will see miracles take place under your hands as you pronounce priesthood blessings". It is incredible the power of the priesthood. We also taught our family with a baptismal date and we showed them and gave them a teaching record so that they can see their progress.
Wednesday was P Day! We went to the Temple. It was my first time since February and it was incredible! I felt the spirit and I received answers to my prayers. We also went to the zoo for our district activity! We can never go Mondays cause it's closed. So I finally got to go. It  was pretty awesome. I shook a monkey`s hand. In the night time we taught a new investigator on her porch. I don`t think her family likes Mormons very much, but it was a solid lesson.
Thursday We had divisions with the ZL's and I got to go to their ward activity. I won a game of musical chairs.
Friday we were teaching Alma and Juan, our baptismal dates, and the lights went out because of the rain. Their roof is also made of tin so it was crazy. We had to yell to teach them. It was a good lesson however.
Saturday we taught 7 lessons. It was a solid day. And we also got fed dinner for the sealing of a family from the branch.
Sunday we went to church and in Sunday school I was teaching so I had the teenagers go into the Primary and teach them. Cause the best way to learn is to do right? It was a solid lesson. They actually did better than I thought.  We also taught our [baptismal] dates and we were going to watch the Restoration movie, but it didn't work. I prayed silently that it would work and it still didn't work. God still answered my prayer, but with a no. I wondered why. Then Juan's brother knocked on the door and came in. We taught them about the Book of Mormon and his Brother was fascinated. God made the movie not work so that his brother would find the Book of Mormon.
The Church is true. I love you all.

Love you Family.

The P-Day that wasn't.....

Hey what`s up Family? Please correct all the errors I will make in this email before sending it out. I am in a hurry!  Today is kind of my P-Day, but not really. I only get to write and then have district meeting and then we work like normal. Weird right? This Wednesday we are going to the Temple so that`s why it`s all messed up like that. But I`m excited to go! The last time was in Feb. and I can`t believe 6 months passed by already! Well this week was pretty good and kind of longer than the others.
Monday we had P- Day and while we waited for the other missionaries to get here we sat by the Temple and I read the pamphlets we teach with. I have to read them all and then pray specifically about them so that I can tell our investigators I have done it. We then went to eat some lunch and play pool. But in taco bell we found out that there is a Foosball table. So we decided to save money and just play Foosball for a few good hours. We also shopped and went home to contact. P-Days are the best cause the whole night is just street contacting.
On Tuesday we had a great day! We had our first lesson with a family. Hermana Alma and Hermano Juan. And no she is not related to the Prophet so quit asking. As we got to their house I felt that they were a chosen family. We were teaching the 3rd lesson in the first visit. I know right? But it`s what we felt they needed. So as the Hermano was reading a scripture I pointed to the word Baptism out to my comp. He shook his head. I then went ahead and popped the question. They both agreed and they have a date for the 1st of September! It was awesome.
Wednesday Was a good day we had Zone Meeting and also divisions with some Elders. I was with an Elder from Arizona that has 3 weeks in the mission. It was a good day. We contacted like crazy and had some quality lessons.  He said the funniest thing ever when we were at a door. There were three doorbells and he was like "Hey White I feel like Joseph Smith" and I asked him why and he just said, "cause, I don't know which is the true one." It was classic.
Thursday was a solid day. We carried water in the morning. It`s almost a habit now a days. It was also the birthday of one of the teenagers in our branch and our comedor invited him and the other young men to come eat. It was a pretty solid lunch. It was a good time.  We also contacted in some alleyways. I stopped in one and prayed that we would find someone new who had already had a connection with the Church. About 8 seconds later we knocked on a door and found them.
Friday nothing too great happened.
Saturday we had a lesson with the family from Tuesday and we brought the Branch President and his wife with us. The Hermano said he couldn't make it to Church on Sunday morning. So when we got to the house in my prayer I begged that he would have a change of heart and come with his wife to Church.
Sunday was a good day! We had 66 come to sacrament meeting. The attendance has not been that high for awhile. We also got 4 investigators there. Which is the biggest problem in our area is getting them to Church. I was sitting on the stand blessing the Sacrament and in walked the family! The Hermano came to Church! I also gave a talk on the Sabbath Day. The missionary couple brought me a letter from my best friend in the world Elder Rodgerson with a plaque in it. Sweet huh? We also went to the area of the sisters to help them out a little bit. The week was good. I would love to send pics, but I forgot my cable!
Love you all. The Church is True.

Disculpame vos

Hey sorry for last week. The CCM cut off my internet time! I was upset, but it`s all good. This week was solid, but it was kind of boring. Not too much great stuff happened. But I`ll give it to you.
Monday we played pool like usual. It was a solid p-day. In the night time we contacted until it was time to go back to the house.
Tuesday we also contacted a ton. We then had a lesson with our investigator that wants to get baptized, but she`s only 17 and her mom won't let her! We read the Book of Mormon cause, we already taught her everything. It was a pretty solid lesson. It`s good that she is now reading.
Wednesday we carried water in the morning for service and from there on out it was a normal day.
Thursday was straight up visiting in-actives and contacting and it was not a good day.
Friday we had a solid day. We did divisions with the Zone Leaders. So Elder Resindez came with me to Las Lomas and my comp went to Santa Catirina Pinula. I still had a comp from Mexico so it wasn't too different. haha. We had a good lesson and got a family to commit to baptism, but not to the date yet. We will put the date this week! It was a great lesson however, they didn't go to Church so we have to change the original date we had planned out. My shoe also cut my foot and I took it off to look at it. As I did this Resindez touched the doorbell and  a women came to the door. I had to contact her and have a good ten minute door lesson without a shoe on. I know right? It was pretty funny though.
Saturday we got invited by a women who was getting baptized to go to her baptism here in the area of the sisters. So we came. It was a great service and I can`t wait to get back into the font after seeing it!!! I miss baptisms!
Sunday we did visits with the branch president so it was a solid day.

The Church is true. Love you all.

Guate's .... crackin'?

What up family? This week was kind of boring, but it was good because, I served the Lord. Monday we went bowling for p-day and it was way too fun. I won by the way so I'm getting pretty good at it. We then went to the mall to look around and all that stuff.
Tuesday we taught the Restoration to a new family and it was a great lesson with lots of Spirit. Last night we were going to challenge them to Baptism, but the mom was sick so we had to cancel the appointment. We also contacted. A Lot. That's what you gotta do when you inherit an area with no investigators.
Wednesday we taught a lesson on the cliff in front of investigators house. It was pretty sweet cause, it was right as the sun was going down and it was pretty cool.  We also got to eat dinner with a member and she was telling us how she got baptized and it was the craziest baptism story I have ever heard. She just went to her boyfriends Baptism and the missionaries were like want to get Baptized too? And she just said yes. So she got Baptized. 30 years later she is the most faithful member of the branch and her husband is inactive and they are separated. Crazy huh? We also taught another great lesson.
Thursday morning we did service early and carried water for our member that doesn't get it in her house. We also did divisions with the ZL`s. We had a great family night with a member family. Even though their invite did not come. It was a great lesson and spirit.
Friday we had divisions again with other missionaries. It was pretty fun I guess. Its also better to be in your area with your comp, but its cool to do divisions too. . We also got a refreshment from a member and it was great.
Saturday we had our first lesson with a new family. It was pouring rain and we had to yell cause the roof is made of laminate like most in our area, including ours, it's hard to sleep! But it was a good lesson.
Sunday we went to the house of every investigator to get them. We only got one into the Church. We also moved everything in our house, because, it`s  a new change so we changed the house. We also found out that one of the senior missionaries in the branch opened up Tremonton when he was in his mission! Cool huh?
Happy B Day this week to Harrison Cutler and to some boys in the mish.  Well sometimes there is a lot going on and sometimes nothing, but the Church is always true. Jesus died for us and he knows how we feel and everything that ever happens to us. I love my Lord and his Church. The Church is true. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

With much love, Elder Nicholas White

Viva Las Vegas

The name of the email will be explained as you read this and realize that I live near a place called Las Vegas. This week was pretty sweet.
Monday was pretty chill. On Monday we had a quality day. We got interrupted though by the Missionaries from the MTC so my email got cut off. What? But then we went to play some pool and get my hair cut so it was a good P Day.
Nothing happened Tuesday.
Wednesday we had Zone Meeting.  It was pretty good. I learned a lot of good stuff. We also had a sweet Family Night with a family in our ward and their neighbor.
Thursday= We we woke up and carried water for a sister who doesn't have it in her house. We then studied and ate lunch and everything and afterwords we went to contact this valley in our area that's called, yeah you guessed it, Las Vegas. It`s full of people and even more full of "choo chos",  better known as dogs.  It was a good time and we contacted a lot of great people.  I have definitely seen the blessing of contacting in my mission seeing as how all of my baptisms have been contacts except for two. So I love doing it.  We also helped a little kid who was shoveling rocks into a wheel barrow all alone in the pouring rain to do it faster.
Friday we taught a new family and it was a great lesson. I also hit the ten month mark.... So that was good. It doesn't seem like it at all. Happy ten months Lilly!!!
Saturday we helped a lady carry 200 blocks down three hills into her house. Just us two. It was pretty solid service I'd say. It was definitely tiring though.
Sunday we did divisions to go bring investigators to Church. During sacrament a car pulled up outside and started playing a rap song way loud and it was awful. We also found a bag in our house full of references from when my district went contacting in my area 9 months ago in the MTC. Including cards that I wrote. Cool huh? We also had a lesson with a new family and the sister just commented us on how she could see the Spirit of God in us the whole lesson it was sweet.
Well the Church is True and nothing can ever change that. Love you all.

Pila Showers

Whats up Utah? Well this week was pretty chillero,  I won't lie.
Monday we went to go bowling in the mall in another zone and I got to see my best mission friend Elder Steed and wish him a happy Canada day in person. I know right? We also were on the way to a lesson in the night and stopped to buy hot dogs in the street and talked with the man. It turned out that his wife is a member and that we know her. The bad news is that he wants nothing with the Church at all. But at least we saw how always preaching opens up doors.
On Tuesday I went in divisions to Santa Catarina Pinula with our zone leader. It was pretty good. It's always cool to get to know a new area.
Wednesday we contacted... a lot. These little kids in the street started yelling really bad words at us in English. So we were like, hey get your parents so we can tell them about this. And we contacted their family.
On Thursday it was the birthday of the greatest country in the world. But we just worked hard and I did nothing fun. I did listen to the Motab America CD though.
On Friday we discovered that our buckets were still full of our clothes that we were washing and our shower is broken so we had to start showering outside.... Chafa right? So we shower from the pila now. Haha. We also had divise with the other district leader and we had a good time. We found out that our member gave rat poison to our investigators dog... Great fellow shipping right? I was s o mad! But it was a solid day.
Saturday We did it big. We found 3 new families. We taught them all about the Plan of Salvation and we put appointments for this week.  It also poured rain and our area is all hills so the streets were like rivers. It was sweet.
Sunday was testimony meeting. We both bore our testimonies so that was good. We also went to do a baptismal interview and I taught a lesson to the other missionaries investigator. It was a great week. Love you all.

 Love, Elder White

There's a drought in our shower

Whats up fam? This week was chill.
Monday my comp had his final interview so I had to go the office! But Elder Kunde was there and he was telling me all the stuff that has happened in Utah since I left. Haha, it was a good time.
Tuesday I finished reading the Book of Mormon in Spanish... I read the whole thing out loud. It was an incredible experience. Also in the mission when I started they asked us to highlight and underline every time that it says or refers to God or Jesus Christ as we read. So my Book of Mormon has a crazy amount of lines. It helps to focus on the fact that the Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ. I also had the great opportunity to kneel down and ask if it was true. I was glad to receive yet another answer to my prayers.
On Wednesday we had to go to the White House to drop off my comp at 8:30 at night. A member from my first area is a taxi driver and came to take us. It was sweet! I also killed my comp. I got a new one. His name is Elder Pineda and he is from Mexico!
Thursday We just worked hard all day. It was a great day. But nothing too great happened.
Friday we had zone conference with 4 zones. Including my old zone and the zone of my best friend in the mission. So I got to see everyone! It was sweet! We learned a ton of great stuff. I always love conferences.
Saturday we didn't have water so we started showering with buckets and cups and to this day we still do it. Its been a few days without water. Haha. We went contacting in a bunch of the alleys in our area and the houses are way close so my comp would knock one door and I would knock the other. Good plan right? Except for when we knocked two and both people came out so we ended up teaching mini lessons in the street solos. Haha It was a good time though.  I also can say that I am a real missionary because.... I got bit by a dog.
Sunday was a good day. I gave a talk about the Book of Mormon in sacrament meeting. So I ended up blessing the sacrament, walking to the pulpit and talking and then after sacrament teaching the youth class. The good old branch life. We also left to visit with the President. It was a good week and I love the opportunity I have to serve in Las Lomas and in the country of Guatemala! The Church is True.

With love from Guate. City...... Elder White
